Tikka T3 Titanium Replacement Recoil Lug!
Proudly made out of 6AL-4V Gr5 Titanium. The yield strength of this titanium is 138,000 psi! While not as strong as our 17-4 stainless lugs they are stronger than a factory lug and 1/3 the weight of the steel lug.
With the added strength of 6AL-4V Gr5 Titanium, recoil is absorbed better than the light-weight aluminum alloy or medium strength carbon steel Tikka uses. If you remove the recoil lug original recoil lug from your stock, you'll see an upside down trapezoid appear over time. This dent eventually allows the action to move under recoil and degrades accuracy.
These lugs are machined to an amazing +/- .0002" tolerance. With the added machining accuracy we make these lug at a tighter fit to increase the rigidity between the action and the stock, which results in a more consistent rifle performance.
To Install:
Simply remove the two action screws and separate your action from the stock. Using a pair of pliers, remove the existing metal piece from the stock. Then push the Tikka Replacement Recoil Lug into the same recess. Put your action and stock back together and tighten your action screws. You are finished!
Note: That in some cases it can take a little longer to line up your action and stock because of the tighter tolerances of our recoil lug.
